1. NATIONAL SECRETARIAT
REGISTRAR / CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (Equivalent to Director General/CEO)
Functions
--Manages and coordinates all the resources and activities of the Departments at the Secretariat and Zonal offices of the Institute through out the country
--Acts as Chief Accounting Officer of the Institute
--Acts as Secretary to Council
--Maintains Register of members
--Sets strategic goals and subsidiary objectives of the Institute
--Implements Council decisions, directives and mandates of the Institute

ii. PROJECT PLANNING, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
(Headed by Assistant Registrar/Director)
Functions
--Designs and executes research projects in areas of science laboratory technology
--Designs, Fabricates, and adapts functional laboratory equipment
--Assists institution on the acquisition, installation, applications and maintenance of laboratory equipment
--Organises exhibitions of laboratory equipment
--Standardizes equipment and instruments used in laboratories
--Consultancy services
--National and International collaborations
--ICT services
iii. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND INSPECTORATE
(Headed by Assistant Registrar/Director)
Functions
--Designs and reviews from time to time curriculum in science laboratory technology used in tertiary institutions
--Screens and registers members of the Institute
--Organises trainings for members of the Institute and science teachers on laboratory procedures
--Conducts professional examinations and registers candidates for membership of the Institute
--Inspects Science Laboratories in schools, tertiary institutions, industries and research institutes

Functions
--Assist the Secretariat in the execution of the policies and activities of the Institute at the states and local areas
--Organise training workshops, seminars, conferences and exhibitions in areas relating to the mandate of the Institute
--Assisting states and local governments to install and maintain laboratory equipment in schools
