Today, 18^th November, 2016 the former Registrar, Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT) Dr. Ighodalo Folorunso Ijagbone was officially sent –forth at the Conference Hall of the Institute by the Acting Registrar, Yemi H. Gbadegesin, Management and the general staff. The occasion was witnessed by members of the Institute, former Directors, guests from the private sector, members of staff even those on annual leave resumed to witness the occasion. The event was also witnessed by Chief Samson A. Ifamakinde from the Federal University, Oye, Ekiti, Mr. Akhenemhen, E. Ehiabhi from the Federal University, Bayelsa, Mr. Jackson Osuh former Director Education, Training and Inspectorate, NISLT, members of Management, Best Option Nigeria Limited and other dignitaries.

At the occasion the Acting Registrar, Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Institute, Mr. Yemi Hezekiah Gbadegesin remarked that since he assumed office on 1^st April, 2016 he strived to follow Dr. Ijagbone’s exemplary characteristics and official styles in making sure that all things are achievable. This he said was because the former Registrar is an achiever and a role model whose work and humility is a joy, pride and honour to emulate as his achievements have posed high expectations and goals.

He further reported that the Institute has made some landmark improvement within the period he resumed as the Acting Registrar as a build up on the former Registrar’s unprecedented achievements.

The staff generally poured encomium on Ijagbone’s leadership style and quality. He was described as a man of immense patience, tolerance and hard work, a man with great skill to listen and respond to the needs and aspiration of staff, an embodiment of love, he was called a true father by very many staff, mentor and a tutor as well as a seasoned scientist. 

Gifts were presented by both the Institute and various individuals to show appreciation for his meritorious service to the Institute, Nigeria and mankind.

In his response, the former Registrar, Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, NISLT, Dr. I. F. Ijagbone who was accompanied by his amiable wife, commended the good work the present administration is doing and urged them to continue in that light. He commended the entire members of staff stating that nothing would have been done without the cooperation he enjoyed from the staff. Dr. Ijagbone enjoined the entire staff to extend the same level of cooperation to the present administration. He went further to thank the Acting DG, members of Management and the general staff of the Institute for their magnanimity and kind gesture for the gift he got and their appreciation of his little contribution to the work that has been done in the Institute. He promised that he will continue to give his support at any level the Institute will further want him to contribute.
