NISLT is a global professional Scientists/Technologists Institute. With more than 23,000 members, the Institute is dedicated to developing and promoting the highest educational, professional and ethical standards.

The Institute is charged with the general duty of advancing science laboratory technology profession; determining the standards of knowledge, exposure to equipment, practical and skills, to be attained by persons seeking to become registered members of the profession and reviewing those standards, from time to time, as circumstances may require; promoting the highest standards of competence, practice and conduct among the members of the profession; serving as a certifying agency through its registered members ; ensuring safety standards and necessary facilities in science laboratories and workshops in Nigeria; ensuring, through its registered members, effective and efficient management and administration of all science laboratories in Nigeria ; conducting inspection of science laboratories in schools, post-secondary Institutions, industries and research Institutes in order to improve the professional standards, among others;

The Governing Council of the Institute modified and approved the new curriculum for the Fellowship Programme/Examinations. Passing the Fellowship Examination will henceforth be the prerequisite for Fellow (FISLT) membership registration into the profession. Candidates who fail only one paper of the examination shall be allowed to have a re-sit of the paper at the next available opportunity. Candidates who fail more than one paper shall repeat the examination at the next available opportunity. The Institute shall organize an induction programme and orientation ceremony for successful candidates.

To earn the FISLT registration, individuals must study and demonstrate a mastery of Advanced Research Methodology; Advanced General Laboratory Technique and Laboratory Management; Advanced Statistical Methods; Information Communication Technology in SLT Research; Entrepreneurship Studies/Laboratory Business Law/Science Technology and Innovation; Seminar; Completion of Research Thesis and Oral Defense.

The Progrmme and examinations will be based on the NISLT Governing Council approved fellowship guidelines/syllabus which can be downloaded from the institute’s website www.nislt.gov.ng or obtained after registration.

Date of first module lecture- The 2021 First module lectures is scheduled to hold from Monday 5^th April to Wednesday 30^th June 2021 while the First module Examination will hold from Tuesday July 6^th to Thursday July 8^th, 2021.

Date of Second module lecture- The 2021 Second module lectures is scheduled to hold from Monday 2^nd August to Friday 29^th October 2021. The second module Examination will hold from Tuesday November 2^nd to Thursday Nov 4^th, 2021.

Date of Third module- Monday 8^th November 2021 commencement of Research.

Eligibility For Enrolment- To be admitted into the fellowship programme, prospective candidates must have registered as an Associate member (AISLT) for not less than Ten (10) years. She/he must be a financial member from the date of first registration with the Institute and should be certified by a Fellow of the Institute. The applicant must possess the basic requirements for admission to Associate that is: SSCE pass at credit level or GCE ‘O’ level in five subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language plus three relevant Science subjects and HND, Final Diploma or B.Sc/B.Tech in Science Laboratory Technology awarded by recognized institutions.

Lectures/Examination Centers- All lectures will be held online while Examinations will be held at the NISLT headquarter at Samonda, Ibadan.

EXAMINATION FEES

Payment for Registration: Application form for 2021 diet will open from Monday 1^st Febraury, 2021 to Wednesday March 31^st 2021. Application form is N10,000 while first module payment is N90,000. The second module is N90,000. The third module is N60,000. Payment on installment is allowed on request.
