APPLICATION FOR NISLT MANDATORY PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION (MPE)

MARCH 2023 DIET-MODULE I & II (FOR EXTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY)

The Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT) was established by Act 12 of 2003 of the National Assembly and made a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation. The NISLT is a global professional Scientists/Technologists Institute with more than 25,000 registered members. The Institute is dedicated to developing and promoting the highest educational, professional and ethical standards.

The Institute is charged with the general duty of- advancing the Science Laboratory Technology profession; determining the standards of knowledge, exposure to equipment, practical,s and skills, to be attained by persons seeking to become registered members of the profession, and reviewing those standards, from time to time, as circumstances may require; promoting the highest standards of competence, practice and conduct among the members of the profession; serving as a certifying agency through its registered members; ensuring safety standards and necessary facilities in science laboratories and workshops in Nigeria; ensuring, through its registered members, effective and efficient management and administration of all science laboratories in Nigeria; conducting inspection of science laboratories in schools, post-secondary Institutions, Industries, and research Institutes in order to improve the professional standards, among others;

The Council of the Institute reviewed, modified and approved the new curriculum for the Professional Examinations-

To earn the AISLT registration, individuals must study and demonstrate a mastery of Practical in their areas of specialization (PAPER 1), theory in areas of the core techniques (PAPER II); General Laboratory Procedures, Instrument Maintenance, Laboratory Services Units (PAPER III); and Laboratory Organization and Management, Application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Laboratory (PAPER IV).

The examinations will be based on the NISLT Council-approved professional examination syllabus which can be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.nislt.gov.ng

Date of the next examination- The next Professional Examination is scheduled to hold in March 2023. Candidate must pass Module I to be eligible to register for Module II.

Eligibility For Enrolment- The examinations are open to holders of Final Diploma/HND/B,Tech/B.Sc. in SLT (ONLY).

Examination Registration- The registration portal for the MARCH 2023 diet examinations will open from Monday 19^th December 2022 – Tuesday 28^th February 2023.

EXAMINATION FEES

238451. All payments should be made through the Institute web portal. Only applicants whose application is approved after the certificate/results verification stage shall be able to proceed to register for the examination papers.
