The Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT) has successfully conducted the first module of its 2025 Fellowship Examination Diet. The module included courses on Advanced Research Methodology, Advanced General Laboratory Techniques, and Advanced Statistics.

Dr. Peter Adefisoye Oluwafisoye, FISLT, Acting Registrar/CEO and Overseeing Director of the Institute, formally welcomed the candidates on behalf of the Management. In his address, he provided insights into the revamped Fellowship Programme and congratulated all participants for advancing to the first phase of this rigorous examination process.

A total of 54 candidates were admitted into the 2025 Fellowship Programme, including eight Ph.D. holders. The cohort comprises distinguished professionals, such as Associate Professors, Senior Lecturers, Chief Lecturers, and practicing scientists. Dr. Oluwafisoye noted that previous Fellowship Diets have also attracted highly accomplished individuals, including Professors and Faculty Deans from reputable universities.

He commended professionals returning to the Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) field, emphasizing the importance of senior professionals reclaiming their roles within the SLT framework. “As Fellows, upon completion of this programme, you will be accorded special recognition,” he stated. Dr. Oluwafisoye highlighted the critical roles Fellows are expected to play in the professional ecosystem, including participating in SLT programme accreditations, serving as examiners and markers for the Membership Professional Examination (MPE), editing professional journals, authoring SLT textbooks, and contributing as resource persons in training activities.
