Objective:
This workshop is designed to expose and impact practical knowledge to participants on environmental sample analysis. In addition, the practical use of analytical equipment such as AAS, FLAME & UV Visible Spectrophotometer will be demonstrated, not excluding equipment trouble shooting and maintenance.

- Basic calculations in spectrophotometric analysis
- Different methods of sample and standard preparations for environmental spectrophotometric analysis
- Principles, operations and applications of AAS, flame photometer and UV/Visible spectrophotometer for environmental analysis
- Calibration of AAS, flame photometer and UV/Visible spectrophotometer with standards
- Environmental analysis
- The use of AAS, flame photometer and UV-Vis Spectrometer for metal oxides analysis e.g. Fe2O3, MgO, P2O5 etc
- Good Laboratory Practice
- Validation and Data Interpretation
- Trouble shooting and maintenance of AAS, flame and UV/Visible Spectrophotometer.
- Installation methods for AAS etc.
- Operational techniques for AAS, etc.
